Brian McLaren joins me this week on the podcast. His latest book, The Great Spiritual Migration, grabbed my attention from the first words. As I read the subtitle, How the World’s Largest Religion is Seeking a Better Way to be Christian, I thought about the current election cycle and all that I’m reading on social media, and I want a better way to be Christian. There is, however, much more to the book than what I intimate the subtitle means. In fact, my desire in this season would just be a spillover of a larger conversation that is beginning to take hold, one where Brian McLaren is at the forefront. McLaren talks about the biblical story as one that is fundamentally about people who are on the move and outgrowing old broken religious systems. People who are embracing a new more redemptive way of life.
