Audrey Elledge & Elizabeth Moore – episode 341
During the global pandemic two gifted women in NYC connected to write meaningful liturgies for their church. What began as an exercise in helping their local church community give voice to the feelings of pain and longing in their city as it became ground zero for this frightening pandemic, grew into a book that we could all appreciate and immerse ourselves in. Liturgies for Hope: Sixty Prayers for the Highs, the Lows, and Everything in Between, gives voice to where we have been and where we are going as we move forward and away from the early pandemic days.
Audrey Elledge works at SparkNotes and is the recipient of the Academy of American Poets Prize and the Virginia Beall Ball Prize. Elizabeth Moore, born and raised in Louisiana, transplanted to New York where she works at engine Random House. Both serve on the creative team of their church, Church of the City New York. I know you will enjoy this conversation and be encouraged by it.
